Brockie dismisses Sundowns link

Cape Town - SuperSport United striker, Jeremy Brockie, has vehemently denied there was ever any possibility of him jumping ship to join big spending Mamelodi Sundowns.

Reports were rife that Matsatsantsa's neighboring Brazilians had attempted to entice the New Zealand international striker with a lucrative contract.

However, the lethal marksman is looking forward to a full season with United after scoring 10 goals since joining in January, which earned him the joint top-scorers award during SuperSport's end-of-season gala on Thursday.

"I only read those things [Sundowns links) in newspapers. I am a SuperSport United player," Brockie told KickOff.

"They worked hard to bring me here. They  and hopefully I will win the league title with them next season."

Speaking of his Golden Boot award, which he shared with veteran forward Dove Wome, Brockie added: "It's always nice to win individual awards but credit must go to my team-mates who made my job easy to score those goals.

"I think it's every striker's goal to win the Golden Boot and I am no exception."
