Cape Town - Bidvest Wits new signing New Zealander Kris Bright said that it was overwhelming and exciting to make his debut.
The New Zealander, who scored the opening goal, says that he is humbled to be with such a quality team and strives to make coach Gavin Hunt proud as the season progresses.
“It was unexpected actually because the work permit only got finalized yesterday I think and next thing I am making my debut so it was actually amazing , and overwhelming at the same time,” he told Sport24.
“I am really happy to have played my first game and scored the opening goal for the team.
“I had been training with the team it was my first time playing with the 11 guys; you know alongside the likes of Pelembe, Vilakazi, Klate and so forth.
The Students secured the 28-year-old's services in July and the striker adds that he is only is left with adapting to the style Wits play.
“All that is left for me to adapt to Wits’ style of play and what Gavin wants for his team you know.
“It will take a while but that is what’s exciting and motivates me to keep on pushing myself and doing the best I can for the team.
“Gavin is a really great coach and hope to make him proud by winning some goals for the team and get us close to getting the title as he is striving for that this season.”
The Clever Boys won 2-0 against Maritzburg United at Bidvest stadium, with Bright and Sibusiso Vilakazi on the score sheet.
