It has come to the attention of the Scouting and Academy department at Mamelodi Sundowns that there are bogus individuals posing as Mamelodi Sundowns scouts, who are making promises of trials and academy placements at Sundowns for a placement or trial fee.
Mamelodi Sundowns have warned that the club has nothing to do with these bogus scouts, and Sundowns do not ever charge for a trial at the club.
The club has a scouting and recruitment policy whereby players can be assessed and come to the club on trial.
“Action will be taken and charges of fraud laid against such individuals,” said the Head of Academy, Shawn Bishop.
Sundowns only advertise their open trials on their official website and in reputable publications.
The club has made it clear that no one should pay these scouts in order to get a trial at Chloorkop.
Sundowns has called on anybody who is approached and offers this service for a fee must be reported to the club.
