Bloemfontein - Bloemfontein Celtic collected maximum points against Lamontville Golden Arrows with a narrow 3-2 victory at the Botshabelo Stadium on Wednesday night.
Celtic were the better side on the night. Phunya Selesele's goals were scored by Zambian Clifford Mulenga, Lennox Bacela and Tladi Madubanya who scored a goal each in the second stanza.
Arrows fought back and Katlego Mashego levelled matters a minute before the interval. But they went to sleep, allowing Celtic to score again. Musa Bilankulu scored Arrows' second goal in the second half, beating Celtic's keeper Patrick Tignyemb with a fine header.
But it was too late to change the scoreline with time already gone.
The hosts did well to absorb the pressure from the Durban-based team who will be regretting missed chances in the game.
The result saw Celtic record their second win over Arrows this season, boosting the Free State team's chance to finish the season high on the log.
