Johannesburg - A hat-trick from Ruzaigh Gamildien saw Bloemfontein Celtic beat Wits 3-1 in their Premiership match at Bidvest Stadium on Saturday.

Gamildien scored twice inside the first 12 minutes of the match, and them completed his hat-trick early in the second period, condemning the home side to another poor result.

The Students are now without a win in the last 12 league games and remain on 28 points from 27 matches.

Celtic move up to 38 points from 27 games.

The visitors began the match with a bang and they soon found themselves two goals up courtesy of Gamildien. He scored his first in the eighth minute from a long range shot that had the beating of Energy Murambadoro in the Wits goal.

Four minutes later Gamildien made it 2-0 with a shot from the edge of the penalty area from a cross by Luyanda Hlongwa.

In the 39th minute, Asive Langwe tried to pull a goal back for the hosts, but his shot from inside the box was directed over the bar.

The Clever Boys began the second half by immediately clawing a goal back less than a minute after the interval. A Langwe corner found Bhongolwethu Jayiya as he headed home to make the score 2-1.

The Celtic reply did not take long as they again extended their lead to two in the 55th minute. Gamildien scored his third with another strike from outside the box that found the top left corner of goal to make it 3-1.
