Birds plot Leopards downfall

Cape Town - Moroka Swallows will begin their quest for Premiership survival when they face Black Leopards in the second round of the PSL promotion-relegation play offs.

Read: Marques' 'day' has come

The Dube Birds find themselves fighting for their top-flight status after finishing 15th in the recently concluded campaign, meaning they square off against second and third from the National First Division, in a round-robin tournament.

Leopards have already taken a big step towards promotion from the NFD after seeing off play-off rivals Jomo Cosmos 2-0 in the opener on Sunday, meaning they could virtually put one foot in the Premiership with another win this week.

However, Swallows will be determined to take all three points at the Dobsonville Stadium as they look to retain their billing as one of the few top-flight teams never to have suffered relegation during the PSL era.

The match will also see Swallows face former coach Zeca Marques, who was sacked from The Nest last year before taking up the reins with Lidoda Duvha in December.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, May 20.
