Billiat to seal 'Downs move

Cape Town - After months of speculation it has been confirmed that Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Khama Billiat, has joined Mamelodi Sundowns, with Eleazar Rodgers going the other way.

Soccer Laduma's website reports that the two clubs had agreed terms regarding the transfer, believed to be the largest in PSL history, and that Rodgers was likely to be part of the deal.

After speaking on Metro FM, Ajax's chairperson, Ari Efstathiou revealed that the deal has been completed confirming that Rodgers formed part of the deal.

Rodgers originally left the Cape for Pretoria after Santos were relegated from the PSL after the 2011/2012 season and has struggled to cement a place in the Sundowns starting line-up.

Billiat's future had been under scrutiny and speculation for months and after Ajax failed to register him as one of their players for the current season, indications were that the Zimbabwean international would be moving elsewhere.

However, while Eftstathiou has confirmed that the deal is completed, sources close to the club have confirmed to the Siya crew that there are still some minor aspects to be finalised, but that the completion of the deal is imminent.
