Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns winger Khama Billiat has welcomed the signing of his former Ajax Cape Town teammate, Keagan Dolly.

Billiat and Dolly will team up again when the midfielder joins his new club, Sundowns, at the beginning of July.

The talented 22-year-old was bought by Downs in August last year before being loaned back to Ajax, and Billiat believes Dolly's new adventure will help him grow as a player.

"I believe that Keagan is good enough to make it at any club in the country," He told

"And I think that he needed the move for bigger challenges and bigger competition because we've all seen what he can do at Ajax.

"He is a good player and I am confident that once he gets here and continues to work as hard as I know him to, then there is no reason why he won't play or succeed here.

"Here [Sundowns], there are many good players and the only way to get into the team is to work twice as hard and if Keagan can do that that he will make it here.

"I trust him and I believe there is a reason the coach spotted him and wanted him to come here. He won't disappoint."

Dolly joined Ajax from Sundowns' academy back in 2012 having impressed in the Metropolitan U/19 Bayhill Cup, and made his Urban Warriors debut with an impressive cameo against Manchester United in the July 2012 pre-season friendly.

He went on to make 58 appearances in his three seasons with the club, scoring 5 goals in the process.

His most impressive season was the 2013/14 campaign where his 24 appearances, coupled with 3 goals, saw him voted as the Premier Soccer League's Young Player of the Season at the league's end-of-season awards.

The display also saw him break into the Bafana Bafana squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 qualifiers.
