Billiat: I'm ready for Europe

Johannesburg - Ajax Cape Town midfielder Khama Billiat says he is "ready to go to Europe" after reportedly attracting attention from England, Spain and France.

The pacy 21-year-old most recently impressed for the Urban Warriors during the 1-1 draw against Premier League giants Manchester United last weekend, and Billiat admits he is eager to further his talents abroad.

"I am always ready to go to Europe," he told The Zimbabwe Standard. "I will never give up on this dream, even if it takes long to come.

"What I can only say at the moment is that I prefer the Spanish or French league.

"Earlier this year when I trained with Ajax Amsterdam, I realised that I am ready for Europe.

"Football is the same everywhere. The coaches at Ajax gave me the chance to express myself but put much emphasis on not losing possession unnecessarily."

Billiat's agent, Edzai Kasinauyo, remained tight-lipped over a possible destination, but admits the Zimbabwe international is eager for a move overseas.

"Khama has the talent to play in Europe any day, so this is the right time for him to go. If Knowledge (Musona) can play in Germany, then Khama can do the same," said Kasinauyo.

"He needs to leave for Europe while still young before his sell by date expires."
