Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza
has confirmed that veteran striker Benni McCarthy has signed a two-year
contract with the Absa Premiership giants.
McCarthy had been
without a club since April after newly relegated English outfit West Ham
United paid him a fee to cut his contract short.
McCarthy had been linked in the media to possible offers from other South African clubs, including Ajax Cape Town.
Khoza,
however, confirmed at a media conference in Houghton on Tuesday that
the Bafana Bafana record goal scorer had agreed on a deal with the
Buccaneers.
