According to KickOff.com, Stuart Baxter's words of inspiration may have been the cause of Mandla Masango's brilliant performance in the MTN8 Cup match against Mpumalanga Black Aces.

With his position in the squad in the balance, coach Baxter took the player aside ahead of the match and asked the player to take his chance in the team and to throw the cat among the pigeons and shake things up.

Masango took the words to heart and turned in a spirited performance as he found the back of the net twice as Chiefs routed Black Aces.

Baxter has warned Masango that there is still plenty of room for improvement but with more performances like that of Saturday, he could soon become a regular first team starter.
