Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter is yet to sign a new deal with the Naturena-based outfit.
Baxter guided the Glamour Boys to a league and cup double in his maiden spell in the Premier Soccer League last season.
The former Bafana Bafana mentor joined the reigning league champions last year on a two-year contract which is set to expire at the end of June next year.
Speaking exclusively to Sport24, the Chiefs Corporate Communications manager, Vina Maphosa, said the club has not made any talks about the contract issues with Baxter.
“We haven’t made any reference towards that,” Maphosa told sport24.
“We will release a statement as soon as an agreement between the two parties is reached.
“There is nothing for the media to report about at the moment.”
“Once you see something on any publication or our website, then you can give us a call and we can talk,” he added.
Chiefs encountered a bad start to the current campaign compared to last season as they have only managed three victories from the six games and are currently on the fifth spot on the log standings.
Their next encounter will be away to Steve Khompela’s Free State Stars in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals at the Charles Mopeli Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
A defeat for the Soweto giants would pile more misery on Baxter as the Amakhosi faithful is slowly but certainly commencing with a song calling for his head.
The match will kick off at 15:00.
