Johannesburg - New Kaizer Chiefs coach, Stuart Baxter, is set to address his ranks for the first time today (Tuesday), ahead of Wednesday night’s league clash against Ajax Cape Town at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The former Bafana Bafana coach was officially announced as the Amakhosi’s new head coach on Monday after more than a month of speculation.
He will also be in attendance when Chiefs take on the Urban Warriors on Wednesday.
It is unknown as of yet how the players will respond to having yet another foreign coach at the helm of their team, however Baxter is bound to use Tuesday’s opportunity as a chance to reassure them that both they, and the club, are in safe hands.
The appointment of the 58-year-old coach has been met with mixed responses from the Amakhosi faithful although if he has a good start to his term at Naturena, they will undoubtedly give him their full backing.
