Baxter sacked by Turkish club - reports

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has been given his marching orders by Genclerbirligi SK, according to reports.

Reports suggest Baxter has been sacked by the Turkish Super Lig 1 side after just two games in charge of the club.

In the 62-year-old's first game in charge Genclerbirligi lost 3-2 to Rizespor and then went down 3-1 to Antalyaspor.

Baxter left the Amakhosi at the end of last season by mutual agreement.

The Scottish coach led the Soweto giants to a league and Cup double as Chiefs added the MTN8 Cup to their record-breaking Absa Premiership title-winning campaign.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
