The Glamour Boys face Rise and Shine on Wednesday evening in a match that could see the club clinch the 2014/15 Absa Premiership title with three games to spare.
Amakhosi lead their nearest challengers Mamelodi Sundowns by 13 points and victory for the home side would put Baxter’s men in an unassailable position.
“We are aware of the position but all we can do is concentrate on our own mission,” says coach Baxter, who will be back on the bench after missing the last two league matches.
“If we continue to win our games, the title will sooner or later be ours.”
Kaizer Chiefs' marketing director Jessica Motaung notes that excitement is building up to the match as Chiefs supporters all want to be there when their beloved team crosses the line.
“There is a strong possibility of witnessing history on Wednesday night,” Motaung stresses.
“We would love to share that experience with a stadium filled with loyal followers who have inspired us to greatness throughout the season.”
The match kicks off at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday, April 22 at 19:30.
