Cape Town - Clive Barker believes Mpumalanga Black Aces goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane should be considered for a Bafana Bafana call-up.
The 26-year-old has been a pillar of strength for AmaZayoni this season, with three clean sheets during their unbeaten streak of seven league games.
Speaking after Mabokgwane's latest shut-out in the goalless draw with Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday, Barker said that the keeper has done enough to warrant a place as a one of the back-ups for Bafana.
"I think the goalkeeper (Mabokgwane) was brilliant (tonight)," the Aces head coach said.
"I think if Shakes (Mashaba) is looking for a certain back-up, he's got to be the number one that they call in after the goalkeepers that he has got.
"And that's not putting him under pressure because I was there once; but I genuinely think he is the next upcoming goalkeeper."
Mabokgwane signed for Aces permanently on transfer deadline day, after impressing during a loan spell from Bidvest Wits the season before.
