Barker: We will fight

Cape Town – Despite being defeated by Chippa United, Maritzburg United coach Clive Barker is eager turn the clubs fortunes around.

According to KickOff, Barker reveals that they will need to fight in order to gain positive results and he sees the situation changing for the Team of Choice.

"We will fight it through and it will be interesting. Today for us it was setback, as much as Chippa deserve to win at the end of the day," said Barker.

"I need hard work and planning each game and take one game at the time, but it's gonna be tough.

"They are at the bottom of the log at the moment as you are aware. It is a tough ask but let's get a hold of it and turn this bad situation into a good situation," concluded Barker.

Maritzburg suffered a sixth straight Absa Premiership loss of the season to stay bottom of the table after going down 2-0 to Chilli Boys at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

Meanwhile, the Team of Choice shift their focus to the Telkom Knockout where they face Orlando Pirates in Soweto on Saturday, October 24.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
