Bail postponed for PSL player

Durban - The bail application of AmaZulu goalkeeper Mandlakayise Sangweni was postponed in the Ngwelezane Magistrate's Court in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said.

Sangweni, 26, was arrested last week for allegedly shooting his uncle following an argument.

"The matter was remanded to January 7 for the investigation officer to complete investigations," spokeswoman Natasha Ramkisson said.

While police had said it was unclear what led to the shooting, The Star newspaper reported last week that Nono Sangweni, the daughter of the wounded 66-year-old man, Vusumuzi, said an argument about witchcraft caused the altercation.

Mandlakayise Sangweni is the brother of Orlando Pirates defender Siyabonga Sangweni. His other brother, Thamsanqa Sangweni, plays for Mamelodi Sundowns.
