Bafana boost for Chiefs squad

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs returned to training earlier this week as the team began their preparations for this Saturday’s MTN8 semi-final first leg clash against Orlando Pirates.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, additionally, the likes of Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Bernard Parker, Eric Mathoho, Tsepo Masilela, Itumeleng Khune and Siphiwe Tshabalala all reported back from international duty with a clean bill of health.

The club are said to be delighted that none of the internationals picked up knocks during the matches against Nigeria and Burkina Faso, which took place last week.

Stuart Baxter’s men have also been boosted by the return of central midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi.

He could certainly give the club some added options in the centre of the park, if the coach feels he is fully fit to play.

The club are said to be eager to win the tournament they last won in 2008, when they defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 4-3 on penalties.
