Chatsworth - Lamontville Golden Arrows confirmed their status as the PSL draw kings when they tied 1-1 with Bloemfontein Celtic at the Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Arrows who won the MTN8 competition recently, had to be content with their ninth draw of the season.
The teams had a goal piece at the end of the first half which was a fair reflection of play during this stanza.
The home side almost scrambled a goal in the opening minutes when Celtic defence failed to deal appropriately with a set-piece, but Mokete Tsotetsi eventually averted the danger with a booming clearance as the ball neared his goal line.
Arrows shot to the front in the 11th minute with a training ground move which would have been particularly pleasing for their coach, Manqoba Mngqithi. Nqobizitha Mkhize swung in a free kick from the right flank into the Celtic danger area, and the lanky Thamsanqa Gabuza headed the ball past goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb.
Celtic levelled matters eight minutes later when a quick exchange of passes on the edge of the Arrows goal area between Tlou Segolela and Prince Olomu resulted in the former scoring from close range, his ninth of the season.
The home team moved menacingly towards their opponents' goal mouth on a few occasions with some slick passing moves during the remaining minutes of the half, but the Celtic defence, marshalled by Gary Goldstone and Mokete Tsotetsi, stood firm.
Although neither team dominated proceedings in the second half, the home side would have been left ruing the few half chances they spurned during this period of play.
Notably, midfielder Musa Bilankulu headed just wide from a Francis Kombe cross in the 57th minute, Gabuza thundered a volley straight at Tignyemb twenty minutes later and Siyabonga Sangweni and Njabulo Mnqana had near misses right at the death.
