AmaZulu eager for points

Cape Town - Free State Stars and AmaZulu will both be looking to bounce back from weekend defeats when they meet in an Absa Premiership match at Charles Mopeli Stadium.

Tom Sainfiet’s side suffered their fourth defeat of the season when they were beaten 1-0 away to Orlando Pirates on the weekend.

Stars claimed seven points from four home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bidvest Wits (home), Chippa United and Bloemfontein Celtic (both away).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 10th on the Absa Premiership log with 10 points from eight matches.

AmaZulu have yet to win this season and suffered another defeat when they were beaten 1-0 at home by Chippa United.

The Durban side has claimed two points from five away matches so far this season.

Their next three league opponents are Black Aces (away), Kaizer Chiefs (both home) and Platinum Stars (away).

Usuthu are placed 16th on the PSL log with three points from eight matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and AmaZulu have met in 45 league matches since 1986.

Ea Lla Koto have claimed 19 wins compared to 15 for Usuthu, while 11 matches have been drawn.

Stars have won 13 of their 23 home matches against AmaZulu, suffering six defeats in the process.

Last season Usuthu took four points off Ea Lla Koto, drawing 1-1 in the Free State before a 2-1 home win in the return match in Durban.

Kick-off at 18:00 on Wednesday, October 22.
