Akpeyi confirms move to Chippa

Cape Town - Nigeria Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, has confirmed to Sport24 that he has completed his move to Chippa United, but has refused to disclose more about the deal.

The 28-year-old has already been touted to be Nigeria's next first-choice goalkeeper by long-standing Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama.

He recently sealed a move to the PSL with Chippa, from Nigeria Professional Football League side Warri Wolves, where he is expected to team up with compatriot, James Okwuosa.

And he has confirmed that he will join up with Chippa United at the end of the month.

"I will join up with Chippa at the end of the month hopefully," he told Sport24.

When pressed on the details of the deal with the PSL outfit, Akpeyi was not forthcoming.

"I really don't want to talk about that now, until when I feel the time is right," he said.

Akpeyi, who has represented Nigeria at all junior levels, is currently in the Super Eagles camp in Kaduna, as they prepare for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad.
