According to MTN Football, Akpabio has returned to United on a permanent deal.

“There has been a lot of speculation over the last few months with regards to George’s situation and we can finally announce that all the parties have agreed to terms for his transfer, said Efstathiou.

The striker, who hails from Nigeria, netted 11 times for Chippa last season in the NFD and was pivotal for the former Mother City team in their quest for promotion.

“I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of Ajax Cape Town, to wish George all the success in his future endeavours and have no doubt that his limited time at Ajax Cape Town will add to his success,” added the CEO.
