Ajax to find old form

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town will look to return to winning form in the Absa Premiership when they host Polokwane City at Cape Town Stadium.

Ajax ended off 2014 with a 2-1 loss against Mamelodi Sundowns, extending their winless run to six matches.

The Cape side has claimed 18 points from nine home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Chippa United (home), Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United (both away).

The Urban Warriors are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 24 points from 18 matches.

Polokwane ended 2014 on a high note, defeating Maritzburg United 2-1. They has lost just one of their last nine league matches.

The Limpopo side has claimed 13 points from eight away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Moroka Swallows (home), Orlando Pirates and Chippa United (both away).

Rise and Shine are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 24 points from 17 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and Polokwane have met in three league matches since 2013/14.

The Urban Warriors have two wins compared to one for Rise and Shine.

Ajax’s only previous home match against Polokwane was a 2-0 win in the second half of last season.

When the teams met earlier this season, the Cape side claimed a 2-1 away win thanks to goals from Nokana and Morris.
