Ajax targeting Chiefs back four

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town skipper Travis Graham says the Urban Warriors will be looking to target the Kaizer Chiefs defence in the MTN8 final on Saturday, September 19.

Roger de Sa's men head into the final of the competition in fine fettle, having picked up nine points from a possible 12 to propel themselves to the summit of the Premiership standings.

Chiefs aren't too far off the pace, however, as they sit in third place, just one point shy of the league leaders.

Much has been made of Chiefs' new-look back four, with the partnership of Eric 'Tower' Mathoho and Siyanda Xulu still in its infancy.

"We have got a good bunch of strikers now and they are looking good," Graham was quoted as saying by Sowetan Live.

"This is a good time for us to play Chiefs because they haven't been doing too well in defence and have struggled in that area.

"We will do our best to take advantage of that and it will be important to take our chances early in the game."

Ajax lost out to Mamelodi Sundowns in last season's Nedbank Cup final, and Graham feels the experienced garnered in that competition will stand them in good stead for the clash at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

He added: "The last final we didn't know what to expect. Everybody was a bit nervous. We didn't handle the pressure too well.

"But I think this time we have been through the occasion. We know what we are going into.

"We were too concerned with the circumstances, the occasion, the crowd. We didn't play our normal game against Sundowns, but we learnt a lot."

Kick-off is at 15:00.
