Cape Town - According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Ajax Cape Town have signed Zimbabwean left-back, Milton Ncube, from Highlanders FC in the Zimbabwean Premier League.
There had been some previous speculation that the Ikamva-based club were after the services of the left-back, however, when asked about the prospect at the time, coach Roger De Sa denied that the move was in place.
Speaking to the crew, the club's executive director, Ari Efstathiou, confirmed that they have signed the player.
"We've signed Ncube and he will join us for the pre-season, but we'll release a statement on our website this morning, as soon as you see the statement you can call me," said the director.
The player is seen as a possible replacement for the former Urban Warriors left-back, Thato Mokeke, who joined SuperSport United in January this year.
The 26-year-old Zimbabwean player could follow in the footsteps of fellow countrymen such as Khama Billiat who joined Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs’ anchorman, Willard Katsande, who made their names in the Urban Warriors’ colours.
