Ajax must start scoring goals

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town captain Travis Graham admits that the Urban Warriors should start scoring more goals in their upcoming games.

SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams kept his side in the game by keeping out some very good goal attempts from the Urban Warriors, which were spearheaded by all-rounder Cecil Lolo.

Service into the box wasn’t of the greatest quality, however, both sides managed to get a few attempts on goal, although, it was Ajax who came close to winning, but for the heroics of Williams.

Graham felt that the heat was a major factor at Athlone Stadium as both sides struggled to get their rhythm. However, after a water break was given, the game saw a lot more fluidity.

“I would like to thank the fans for their support on Sunday, the boys did their best under the hot conditions, but unfortunately we couldn't get the three points,” said Graham to the clubs official website.

Scoring goals have been a recurring problem for Ajax of late, but could become a thing of the past as the players know that they need to put in a monumental performance if they are to get anything from the next PSL match against Bidvest Wits.

“We as a team need to start scoring goals, it's as simple as that. But, we are ready for our next match against Wits and hopefully we will come back with our winning form again,” concluded Graham.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
