Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town are keen to prove their triumph over Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 final last month was no fluke, according to defender Rivaldo Coetzee.
Ajax battled to an impressive 1-0 win over Chiefs after dominating much of the fixture to end a seven-year trophy drought.
The Cape side has been on a distinct upward trend since Roger de Sa was appointed head coach, finishing fifth in the Premiership last season and also qualifying for the Nedbank Cup final, which they lost.
"Coach Roger de Sa tells us every day that we've now put a lot of pressure on ourselves after winning the MTN8 Cup as everyone wants to beat us," Coetzee told KickOff.
"But it's also a good thing for us; we have to now show character and show that winning the MTN8 wasn't a fluke."
Ajax are targeting another deep cup run in the Telkom Knockout, starting with their first round match against Golden Arrows at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.
"We have to just keep on going, and continue being consistent heading into this weekend's game," the 18-year-old added.
"The morale is high, everyone is positive and everyone is looking forward to the game. We know this is our chance at another cup, but we have to just take it one game at a time."
Kick-off is at 15:00.
