Ajax CT plan January deals

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town chief executive George Comitis has revealed the club are planning to "beef-up" their squad ahead of the second-half of the PSL season.

According to the football411.com website, the Urban Warriors have been on a downward spiral since their runners-up finish two seasons ago, with the Mother City outfit having ended last term in ninth, while at the half-way stage of this campaign they sit 14th, two points above the relegation zone.

The coastal club are already planning contract extensions for Paul Rusike and Nhlanhla Vilakazi, but Comitis said they are also set to bring in a number of new faces in the current transfer period.

"We will need to beef-up our squad. We have been talking to a few clubs and will definitely have new faces in our squad ahead of the second half on the 2012/13 season," Comitis said.

"I have met with my technical team and identified the areas of our squad that needs to be improved."

Ajax return to Premiership action on February 13 with a home game against fellow strugglers Moroka Swallows.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
