Aces keen to cement Top 8 spot

Cape Town - Black Aces and Bloem Celtic will do battle in their penultimate match of 2014 when they meet at the Mbombela Stadium.

Aces picked up their first home points since October when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Free State Stars on Saturday.

The Mpumalanga club has claimed eight points from as many home matches this season.

AmaZayoni are placed seventh on the Premiership log with 21 points from 15 matches.

Celtic ended their losing streak in the league when they played to a goalless draw at home to Moroka Swallows.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed eight points from as many away matches this season.

Phunya Sele Sele are plaved 10th on the PSL log with 17 points from 15 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Aces and Celtic have met in 31 league matches since 1985.

Phunya Sele Sele have 12 wins compared to nine for AmaZayoni, while 10 matches have been drawn.

Aces have won six of 15 home matches against Celtic, suffering five defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season in Bloemfontein they played to a 1-1 draw with goals from Mogorosi and Ndoro.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, December 17.
