Aces to decide on veteran trio

Mbombela - Mpumalanga Black Aces are yet to decide on the three veterans on trial at the club.

Former SuperSport United duo Rowen Fernandez and Sibusiso Zuma together with Zambian international forward Collins Mbesuma have been training with Amazayoni in the current off-season period.

Mbesuma was released by Orlando Pirates at the end of last season following his lack of contribution at the club, having spent the most part of the campaign on the sidelines.

Aces spokesperson Gordon Masondo confirmed to Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Wednesday that the trio are working hard at training, but it’s up to their head coach, Clive Barker, and his technical team to decide whether the experienced players get a permanent place in the club or not.

“Everything is going up to plan so far,” Masondo said.

“We haven’t made any new signing yet.

“But the club is still assessing the three players on trials.

“Sibusiso Zuma, Rowen Fernandez and Collins Mbesuma are training with us at the moment.

“But we are still waiting to hear from the coach if they will be given a contract or not.

“The technical team will decide after next week.

“But the way I see it, those players are really working hard and I think they still run like teenagers.

“Sometimes I ask myself where they get their energy from.” He added

Both Zuma and Fernandez were released by Matsatsantsa on free transfers last month.
