Aces seek FSS momentum builder

Cape Town - Mpumalanga Black Aces will look to build momentum in the Absa Premiership when they face Free State Stars at Mbombela Stadium.

Aces returned to winning form in the league when they defeated AmaZulu 3-1 away in their last outing.

The Mpumalanga side has claimed seven points from as many home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bloemfontein Celtic (home), Kaizer Chiefs and Platinum Stars (both away).

AmaZayoni are placed seventh on the PSL log with 20 points from 14 matches.

Stars suffered a fourth defeat from their last five league matches when they were beaten 2-0 away to Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Free State side has claimed just three points from seven away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Kaizer Chiefs, Platinum Stars and SuperSport United (all away).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 15th on the Premiership log with 14 points from as many matches.

In head-to-head stats, Aces and Stars have met in 29 league matches since 1986.

Ea Lla Koto have 11 wins compared to seven for AmaZayoni, while 11 matches have been drawn.

Aces have won just three of their 14 home matches against Stars, suffering six defeats in the process.

Last season AmaZayoni completed a league ‘double’ over Ea Lla Koto, winning 1-0 at home and 3-2 in the Free State.

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Saturday, December 13.
