Witbank - Mpumalanga Black Aces and Wits played to a 1-1 draw in their Absa Premiership clash at the Puma Stadium, in Witbank, on Wednesday night, both teams finishing with 10 men.
Wits took the early advantage after Aces defender Felix Musasa was shown a red card in the eighth minute.
Midfielder Rene Richards capitalised to give his side the lead seconds later from the resultant free kick and Wits took control.
The home side’s coach, Neil Tovey, had used all his replacements midway through the first half.
Aces fought back after the break, with midfielder Mpho Maleka equalising in the 57th minute.
They continued to push forward, and the pressure on the visitors showed when Sifiso Vilakazi was sent off for a second yellow approaching full time.
Aces have been struggling with only one win from seven games and, although they could not find the winner, they will be pleased to have picked up a point.
Wits will have hoped for three points from the fixture and will look to bounce back against Mamelodi Sundowns at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.
