Cape Town - Ace Khuse, a Kaizer Chiefs legend and current youth coach at the club, has shed some light on Sibongiseni Ngcobo, who was recently revealed as a new Amakhosi first team player.
Ngcobo was promoted to the first team after impressing in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge last season and Khuse believes that the defender has got all that’s needed to go far.
“Ngcobo has been with me for about three years,” Khuse told Sport24.
“Last season he was injured and I think he is still recuperating.
“He did well in the Multi-Choice and that’s where our guys saw him and said no this guys is ready to go to the first team.”
When asked whether or not he believed it was the right decision to promote Ngcobo, Khuse said he had no doubt in the player’s quality but was concerned over his lingering injury.
“I think he is ready but the only thing is that injury that he got last season.
“Ngcobo is a good right-back and can also play at centre-back.
“His overlapping is good, he’s got very good aerobic endurance that’s why we chose to play him at right-back but he’s also has good height for centre-back.
“He is strong on aerial balls and has good technique and can definitely be a future Bafana Bafana player,” Khuse proclaimed.
