PSL playoffs remain postponed
2012-05-31 07:38
Johannesburg - The Premier Soccer League's Disciplinary Committee case involving
Chippa United and Blackburn Rovers has concluded, although the playoffs
will remain postponed until judgement is passed.
The case relates to charges brought against Chippa for allegedly
fielding unregistered players during the National First Division
campaign, with the club in danger of being kicked out of the
relegation-promotion contest.
Santos and Thanda Royal Zulu had already contested the opening playoff encounter, with the People's Team earning a 1-0 victory.
But PSL spokesperson Altaaf Kazi confirmed to Football411 the rest of the scheduled matches have been postponed until further notice.
Chippa United had already seen their opening tie against TRZ last
Sunday postponed, while the match between Santos and Chippa scheduled
for this Wednesday has also been shelved until after the conclusion of
the case.
The PSL could not provide a date for when the tournament would resume.
