'PSL clubs sabotaging Parreira'

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns’ technical director, Ted Dumitru has lashed out at the quality of football dished out by PSL teams.

While there seems to be a belief that the PSL standard has improved, Dumitru has begged to differ, claiming that the PSL teams are sabotaging the national team coach, Carlos Alberto-Parreira.

“The kind of football that we are witnessing in the PSL is not doing what Parreira is trying to achieve with the national team any good. In fact, these teams are sabotaging Parreira. This is not the best football we can play,” lambasted Dumitru.

Dumitru says our local football has been reduced to direct, results-orientated kind of football that has shut out the natural flair of South African players and has also undermined the strengths of local talent.
