PSL clear up venue confusion

Johannesburg - The Premier Soccer League have moved to clarify doubts over the venue for this season's Nedbank Cup final between Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United.

Speculation on social networking sites and from certain media outlets suggest the R6 million showpiece will be moved from its original venue, the Orlando Stadium, to Tshwane.

The reason behind the reports is due to the fact both the Brazilians and Matsatsantsa hail from Pretoria, and a Nedbank Cup final in their own back yard would have gone a long way in ensuring a packed stadium.

However, the PSL have moved to reiterate that South Africa's most lucrative cup competition, which reaches its climax on May 26, will still be staged at Johannesburg's Orlando Stadium.

The draw for the venue had to be made prior to last weekend's semi-finals, so as to afford sufficient time to plan for the event.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
