2010-07-17 14:26
Johannesburg - The 2010/11 Premier Soccer League fixtures have been announced, with the first match scheduled for Friday 27 August when Ajax Cape Town entertain Bloemfontein Celtic at the Cape Town Stadium.

Speculation had suggested that the brand new stadium in the Mother City, which hosted World Cup matches in June and July, would be used for PSL encounters and now confirmation has come through that it will.

Defending champions SuperSport United face a tricky opener against Nedbank Cup champions Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday 28 August. Gavin Hunt's charges will be looking to claim an unprecedented fourth successive title.

Kaizer Chiefs clash with Golden Arrows on the same day at the Rand Stadium, while Mamelodi Sundowns are also in action on the Saturday at home against Moroka Swallows.

Vasco Da Gama kick off their adventure in the top flight against Soweto giants Orlando Pirates at home on the Sunday of the opening weekend, while their is a Kwa-Zulu Natal derby in the shape of AmaZulu against Maritzburg United on the same day.

The first Soweto Derby of the season takes place on November 13 when Amakhosi travel to the Bucs' Orlando Stadium.
