Neeskens wary of SuperSport

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens is full of respect for Nedbank Cup final opponents SuperSport United.

The Tshwane titans will collide at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, with Neeskens's men smarting from a recent 1-0 loss to Matsatsantsa in the Premier Soccer League.

"SuperSport has beaten us once this season and I respect they way they play, because they are very unpredictable side so we must be careful," Neeskens told the league's website.

"Four months ago they couldn't score a single goal in a couple of matches and their performance picked up towards the end of the season as their confidence grew which resulted in them finishing in a respectable third position in the league and being in the Nedbank cup final.

"So we are facing a good team and anything can happen."

Neeskens added that Downs will approach this game like any other.

He said: "We are not going to approach this game in any different manner. We are going to play our normal game and I hope for the players' sake they win, because they really deserve silverware for their hard work they have put in this season.

"Honestly it is the last game of the season and I want this match to be a well competed match for the fans, but an entertaining one on the field for the players," concluded the Dutchman.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
