Neeskens expects tight battle

Johannesburg - Johan Neeskens admits Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu could not be more evenly matched as the pair prepare to clash in the Telkom Knockout on Saturday.

The two PSL clubs have played out near-identical results so far this season, with both having won just one league match to sit in a three-way tie with Chippa United at the bottom of the standings.

The pair will now battle it out for a place in the Ziwa Mo semi-finals, and the chance to kick-start an ailing season, and Neeskens is expecting a very tight encounter at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

"We can expect a tough game against a team that is very motivated," Neeskens said.

"(AmaZulu) won in the Telkom Knockout (first round) and then drew with Pirates (in the league), more or less the same as we did. We also won in the cup and then drew with Ajax (Cape Town).

"They are more or less in the same position as we are but I also think that AmaZulu have got their confidence back and so did we."
