Neeskens delighted with win

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens was delighted with his side's 4-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Sunday.

Sundowns struck all of their goals in the opening 45 minutes and although Neeskens admits that he was not as pleased with the second-half performance, he was happy to see his side make the most of their chances.

"I think our team started very well. They did (everything) the way we wanted them to play. A lot of things worked and I must give them a compliment," he said.

"Especially in the first-half, they did exactly (what we wanted) - we created space, we went forward and now we had some opportunities and we also scored the goals.

"In the second-half, I was not that happy. I think we were a little bit sloppy with passing, so that could have been better. But overall I'm happy and I must give a big compliment to the whole team."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
