Chiefs take on United in semis

Johannesburg - There are only four teams left in this season’s edition of the South African FA cup, with the title of Nedbank Cup champions up for grabs.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, following the weekend results at the quarterfinal stage of the cup competition, Platinum Stars, United FC, Kaizer Chiefs and defending title holders, SuperSport United, have all booked their place in the semifinals.

With R6 million at stake and the opportunity to represent South Africa in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup, all four teams will be determined on going all the way and lifting the trophy on the final day of season.

The draw for the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup was held at the PSL’s headquarters in Parktown, Johannesburg, on Monday, where representatives of the teams, officials from the PSL, members of the media and representatives from Nedbank attended the event.

PSL log leaders, Chiefs, will take on the only non-PSL still left in the competition, United FC, in the first of the two semifinals, while Platinum Stars and SuperSport  go head-to-head in the second semi-final.

Semi-final fixtures, with the home team stated first:

Kaizer Chiefs v United FC

Platinum Stars v SuperSport United

The dates, times and venues for the semi-finals will be released by the PSL in due time.
