Mushekwi: We won as a team

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns' two-goal hero Nyasha Mushekwi refused to take all the credit for his side's victory over Bidvest Wits in the Nedbank Cup.

The Brazilians hitman fired home both goals against the Students at the weekend to send his side through to the quarter-finals, but Mushekwi says the victory is more down to team work than a personal performance.

"I might have scored the goals today but It was a team performance. Team work got the job done at the end of the day," he said.

"I didn't realise that I have scored eight goals in the Nedbank Cup but we just have to win our next game, whether it's Nedbank or a league game, I'm willing to do the job and contribute to the team's success."

Meanwhile, Downs coach Johan Neeskens revealed he too is delighted with the result, and claims it does not matter how they win, just that they do.

"We are through to the next round, it doesn't matter whether we win by two-nothing or five-nothing. I'm happy with the performance and a big compliment to the team," the Dutchman said.
