Johannesburg - Pitso Mosimane's vision of investing in the country's youth has been backed by the South African Schools Football Association.
The new Bafana Bafana coach stressed the need for reform upon his appointment as the national team now looks to rebuild ahead of the upcoming African Cup of Nations as well as Brazil 2014.
SAFSA general secretary Steve Pila said they wholeheartedly supporting the new Bafana boss.
Speaking at the Metropolitan Under-16 Cup in Johannesburg on Tuesday, he said: "Pitso has made it clear in his Vision 2014 that focusing on football development forms the integral part of it and we fully support him.
"We won't be able to produce quality players for Bafana Bafana if development is neglected."
SAFA president Kirsten Nematandani has already thrown his support by Mosimane and reiterated his belief that the nation's youth are key.
He said: "If you fail to develop the youth football you failed the nation."
The U-16 Cup winners will represent South Africa at the International Soccer Federation Schools World Championships in Brazil next year.
