Moon wants charges dropped

Johannesburg - Murder accused SuperSport United soccer player Bryce Moon was expected to make a court application on Wednesday to have charges against him withdrawn, according to a report.

Moon, 27, would lodge the application in the Randburg Magistrate's Court, reported the Sowetan newspaper.

He faces charges of murder, alternatively attempted murder, drunken driving, alternatively driving while an excessive amount of alcohol was in his blood, and reckless and negligent driving, alternatively inconsiderate driving.

He allegedly hit and killed Sandton domestic worker Mavis Ncube in 2009.

He has argued in court that the State's case was based on unreliable statements and witnesses.
