Former African Champions Orlando Pirates will host decorated DR Congo side TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League, before embarking on an away trip to Lubumbashi for the return leg.
SuperSport United will travel to Egypt to face lesser-known, ENPPI in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Mokanyane said: "We have been impressed with the campaign of both Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United in continental club championships.
"Both teams have been great ambassadors of South African football and the Premier Soccer League.
"It has been a while since a South African side won the Champions League and the Confederations Cup and, that is why we are backing both Orlando Pirates and SuperSport to go all the way to claim top honours."
The PSL Acting CEO encouraged South Africans to come out in numbers and rally behind the two teams in their inter-continental campaign.
Both SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates will not be in action in the Absa Premiership this weekend. The PSL will advise when the postponed fixtures will be rescheduled.
