Modise, Zidane to share stage

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder and South African international, Teko Modise, is set to line-up alongside global legends such as Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho for a charity game in Nigeria.

The Bafana Bafana star has been invited to take part in the game that is being organised in an attempt to raise awareness and raise money for the fight against human trafficking in football.

African legends, such as Didier Drogba, Nwankwo Kanu, Samuel Eto'o, Emmanuel Adebayor, Victor Ikpeba, and Jay Jay Okocha will play alongside Modise, as they join Zidane and Ronaldinho in the game.

Nigeria’s current captain, Joseph Yobo, will also take part in the match although the date for the charity has not yet been announced.

The event, which is part of an annual awards ceremony called the Nigeria Pitch Awards, is organised by Matchmakers Consult International, a sports consultancy and management company.

Shina Philips, the CEO of Matchmakers Consult, explained, "This is magnificent. We are excited at the opportunity to organise a show-stopping Football Awards that will reward persons in all playing positions on the field, as well as officials, players' agents, State Governments and the media."
