Johannesburg - Tsepo Masilela's agent has strongly hinted that the Bafana Bafana full back could be on the verge of a transfer to England or Spain at the end of the season.
Prosport International's Mike Makaab revealed that he has been contacted by several clubs regarding the availability of the 24-year-old, who currently plays for Israeli champions Maccabi Haifa.
Masilela was linked with a switch to Tottenham Hotspur back in August and despite his club side crashing out of the Champions League without gaining a single point, his reputation has soared thanks to a series of brilliant displays.
"It's on the cards that he will definitely move to a substantial club in Europe," Makaab told Football365.co.za.
"Without mentioning names there's been very serious interest in Tsepo from both England and Spain after his performances in the Champions League for his club. He's an outstanding player who will be very important for South Africa at next year's World Cup."
Bernard Parker is another Bafana international who is making his name in Europe but he has enjoyed less success than Masilela.
The striker made his long-awaited first start for Eredivisie leaders FC Twente on Saturday against NAC Breda but was substituted at half-time with his side 1-0 down.
They went on to win 3-1 but Makaab believes it is only a matter of time before Parker settles in to his new club having arrived in August following an ill-fated spell at Red Star Belgrade.
He said: "The club are extremely satisfied with him but with Twente doing so well at the top of the league it is going to be hard for him to break into the team.
"Steve McClaren is an extremely astute manager and I have no doubt that he will bring him along at the right pace."
Much has been made of the lack of gametime for many of South Africa's overseas-based stars, with only Masilela and Steven Pienaar seemingly guaranteed their places at their respective clubs while players like captain Aaron Mokoena and Benni McCarthy struggle for selection.
However Makaab, who also represents Racing Santander's Nasief Morris, believes that the situation need not cause Carlos Alberto Parreira too much concern.
"On the one hand it is a worry but on the other they are all at clubs who are playing at a very high level so there is serious competition for places," he said.
"The good thing is they are all going to be in shape because those who aren't in the first-team are still playing reserve team football every week."
