Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa is confident the Happy People will overcome Kaizer Chiefs when the two Soweto rivals battle for a place in the final of the MTN8 Wafa-Wafa competition at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Manyisa, 25, was inspired by his team’s performance against Egyptian giants Zamalek in their CAF Champions League group encounter, which the South African side emerged as 4-1 victors.
Manyisa also hinted that his team-mates need to maintain their good attitude and fighting spirit when they face their bitter rivals.
“I think the attitude we have displayed in the Champions League will put us in good stead.”Manyisa told the Orlando Pirates website.
“Coming into Saturday’s match we have to play well and give our fans some joy on Saturday.”
However, the Bafana Bafana ace also stressed out that they will not underestimate their opposition, and instead they will be given all the respect they deserve.
”Chiefs won the league last season so they also believe they can get a result from us, we lost in the Carling Cup to them and that shows they have the ability of playing good football and win high tempo match.”
“For us it will be important to approach the game with the right attitude and give our opponents the respect they deserve,” he added.
The much anticipated clash will kick off at 15:00.
