Johannesburg - Siyabonga “Bhele” Nomvethe’s agent, Mike Makaab, has confirmed that talks to extend the striker’s stay at Dobsonville are in process.
According to soccerladuma.co.za website, Nomvethe has struggled with injuries so far this season but is now on the road to recovery and is hoping to return to Zeca Marques’ Moroka Swallows line-up in the coming weeks.
The Siya crew reported in the latest edition of Soccer-Laduma, issue 799, that there had been a hold-up in negotiations due to the length of the contract that had been tabled, however Makaab explained that there should be no hold-up.
He said, “We’re busy renegotiating a deal for him to stay at Swallows, that’s currently in the process at the moment.”
While no future troubles surrounding the player’s imminent extension are expected, come the end of January the 34-year-old will become available on a pre-contract, something that is likely to spark interest from elsewhere.
However, as aforementioned, the Dube Birds are set to tie up the former Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Udinese man before there is any chance of him going elsewhere.
